Tips For The Undetectable Makeup
The Malaysian Women\'s Weekly|November 2018

Meet the barely visible beauty products that work overtime to enhance your look – and why you should take your makeup routine undercover.

Tips For The Undetectable Makeup

PRIMER

When was the last time someone said, “That is a nice primer you’re wearing”? Uh, never. The thing is, primers are virtually undetectable. So why bother?

Take the analogy of painting a wall. To get the best finish, there is a list of steps you should go through before applying that final coat – and the same goes for your makeup.

“Starting your makeup routine with a primer allows your foundation to smooth easily over the skin and helps the rest of your makeup to last longer,” explains makeup artist Elsa Morgan.

Within the primer spectrum are a range of options. “Some primers give the skin extra benefits, like light reflection or colour correction,” Elsa says.

There are even primers designed to smooth out uneven skin tone or pores. Like gap sealant, but for your face!

CORRECTING CONCEALER

At first glance, a green concealer looks like it’s come straight out of the Wicked Witch of the West’s beauty cabinet. However, on application, it melts and disappears into the skin, while cleverly correcting the skin tone in the process.

To understand how those coloured concealers work, you will need to hark back to the colour wheel from your primary school artistry days.
