As Prince Andrew faces yet more lurid accusations, royal experts are now warning the British royals are facing the possibility of complete collapse.

With reports circulating that the Queen will effectively abdicate in less than two years, leading Charles to step in as Prince Regent, senior royals, including Princess Anne, are being warned they could be out of a job by 2021.

“It’s going to be a turbulent period in history,” royal expert Phil Dampier tells New Idea.

“It’s only 18 months until the Queen is 95 and she is widely expected to hand over power to Charles in all but name. He will then start to modernise the institution.”

It’s been reported for some time that Charles’ long-held ambition is to create a slimmed-down monarchy.

Behind the scenes, Prince Charles is taking his first steps towards realising that goal and has been dubbed the ‘Shadow King’ for the way he swiftly dealt with his disgraced brother and banished him from royal duties.

UK newspaper The Sun quotes a royal source who confirms that Charles jumped at the opportunity provided by the Epstein-Prince Andrew scandal to “step in to show that he can run The Firm”.

The insider added, “This was the moment when Charles stepped up as Prince Regent, the Shadow King.”
