Prince Frederik has issued a desperate plea to his wife Princess Mary, begging her to slow down amid fears that she’s pushing herself too hard with her royal duties.

The heartfelt concerns come amid reports that the busy mum-of-four is pregnant with the couple’s fifth child, as Copenhagen royal insiders reveal that the Danish palace is poised to make an announcement any week now.

But instead of slowing down, the 45-year-old Aussie-born princess has been spotted doing more official duties than ever, attending functions day and night in past weeks.

Recent photos of Mary looking pale and peaky at several royal events sparked Fred, 49, to beg his wife to cut back on her duties.

She appeared to be clutching her belly and closing her eyes on various occasions after one public event, as if she was about to faint and needing a rest.

‘One minute Mary was clapping along and smiling during the presentation, then the next she looked like she was going to faint,’ says one onlooker at the opening of the CPH Garden exhibition.
