Bec Hewitt is reportedly enduring a heartbreaking blow following a recent ego-shattering setback.

A source tells New Idea that Bec, 37, has just received confirmation that her most recent TV role on travel series Helloworld “is currently on hold due to COVID”.

The former Home and Away star is said to be deflated by the news.

“Bec’s just hoping the show won’t be dumped for good,” an insider spills, adding the former actress is particularly worried because Helloworld marked her first official return to TV since departing the soap to marry tennis superstar, Lleyton Hewitt, 39.

“Since marrying Lleyton in 2005, her main role has been as a wife and mother to their three children, Ava, Cruz and Mia,” the source explains. “But as the kids are getting older, Bec is also focusing on her own future.”

Meanwhile, a TV insider says that a temporary hiatus on Channel Seven’s Helloworld could wind up being a case of swings and roundabouts for the former soap star. Bec has reportedly already been approached by rival Network Ten to appear on I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!, which has just commenced filming.
