To many of us, starting a business might seem like a dream that has struck our minds in the past, but actually turning the ideas into reality isn’t something that a lot of us end up doing. Most of the time, it all boils down to one factor that stops us from making that move – the confidence we have inside us to get out of our comfort zone. Look around you or just try looking it up on the web and you’d see that there are many young people from different backgrounds who have gone the extra mile to set up their own businesses. Most of these young entrepreneurs have decided to take that leap of faith thanks to the apps and technology that are available in the market. We got a chance to speak to Foong Yuh Wen, the co-founder of SushiVid and Susian Yeap, the co-founder of Supahands, who reveal how they made their dream come true.

Foong Yuh Wen, 33

“SushiVid is a company that helps brands to find, hire and work with social media influencers through our online portal. I started this company two and half years ago after giving up my full-time job of three years in Singapore. To be honest, I didn’t think I was ready to start something on my own but I wanted to challenge myself and told myself to ‘do it first and die later’. I had a very low self-esteem and when I started my career as an equity research analyst back in 2008, I couldn’t adjust into the rhythm.
