I look at the cliff through a rain-drenched windshield, mopped clean by the wipers; it is a steep slope of slippery mud with a rivulet of brown water flowing down. I imagine that we would either hurl down or skid off the path, ending in a crash!
Aamby Valley is a small town nestled in the hills between sister cities, Mumbai and Pune. I am here for an off-road expedition organised by Jaguar Land Rover. It’s a 2.2 litre diesel-powered automatic black Jaguar—the Land Rover Discovery Sport.
With my hands on the steering wheel I feel like I am controlling a powerful beast who obeys my slightest touch. Ten Discovery Sports line up for the drive, keeping a safe distance from each other. The narrow path can accommodate only one car at a time.
