The Bright Comic Kicks Off Season 2 of Her Late-Night TV Hit.

THE RUNDOWN WITH ROBIN THEDE is what late night didn’t know it was missing. Now in its second season, the show adds to the #BlackGirlMagic that is Thursday evenings (shout-out to Shondaland!). With its premiere on BET last October, Thede, 38, became one of two Black hosts currently on late-night television—and if we’re counting Black women, the only one.

“I feel like I’m living my dream,” the Northwestern University grad who also studied at Chicago’s Second City says about the success of her foray into a place no one has gone in quite the way she has.

Headlines such as “TV gets a much-needed voice in The Rundown With Robin Thede” in The Washington Post are proof the Iowa native was on to something when she noticed a distinct void in late-night TV, one she knew she could fill.
