Organize accounts. A good way to kick off your to-do list is by assembling a list of all your financial accounts and passwords. Your checklist should include must-have documents, including wills, powers of attorney for financial and health affairs, and bank and investment account info. Track down other documents as well, such as warranties for major appliances and the titles to your cars.
