Living The Dream

Designed to play out her wanderlust aspirations, celebrity Nadiah M.Din’s villa resort-inspired home takes her and her family back to their favourite vacay spots.
AT A GL ANCE
Space 5-ROOM HDB EXECUTIVE APARTMENT Reno period THREE MONTHS
The decor of the newly expanded living area pays tribute to Nadiah’s parents. Her late artist dad’s calligraphic works and paintings hold pride of place, while her mother chose the maroon-hued Persian carpet which has been well-received by friends and family who visit.

The Brief
Amidst international borders shutting down due to the pandemic, Nadiah and her husband Bilal Jeanpierre were planning for the renovation of their new 1,600sq ft family home in the West. The actress and TV host soon realised that any holiday plans would be shelved, and as avid travellers, the couple knew they needed an outlet for their family vacations. “That’s when I told my husband that we need to style our home after a villa resort, so we can always relive our fond travel memories,” Nadiah tells us.

With her husband completely on board with her “holiday home” aspirations, Nadiah then engaged designer Wan Ismail from Fatema Design Studio to put together a spacious living space comprising Moroccan and bohemian influences. He expertly tweaked the original layout by hacking away walls to expand the living room, master bedroom and created an open-plan kitchen. All these well-executed reconfigurations have been integral in introducing more daylight and the visual expanse of space.
