“ALTHOUGH OUR KITCHEN had good quality cabinetry, after 25 years it really needed a facelift,” says the owner of this family home in Athol, Jo’burg. What triggered the refurb was the purchase of a new microwave, which didn’t fit in the existing alcove. Turning to kitchen designer Marina Shahini of Kitchens by M, her brief was to accommodate several new appliances, as well as update the look and feel to something lighter and more modern.
