DAY 1
The first ID Symposium 2021 session saw a thought-provoking discussion between architect, interior and product designer Rooshad Shroff and artist, photographer, designer and video artist Arik Levy. The hour-long session was moderated by Kamna Malik, content director for India Design ID and editor for ELLE India. Both the multi-disciplinary creatives spoke about their design ethos as well as their thoughts on emotion in design, how it ignites all the senses and the role materiality plays in their creations. “I would like to undo everything that is evident and let come through what is not,” said Levy while shedding light on his philosophy of ‘nothing is quite as it seems’ and how this notion influences his creative process. Shroff’s explained how his journey, though it began in architecture, branched out to other fields like product design by way of his exploration and investigation into materials and their properties.
Amit Syngle, Alan Abraham, Chaitanya Dixit, Ekta Parekh and Samuel Barclay Moderated by Manju Sara Rajan
