Tailor-Made Luxury

Call it a holiday cottage, vacation house, weekend getaway or your second home — owning a tranquil piece of land away from the cacophony of the city is (however cliched it might sound) part of everyone’s wishlist. This very desire is what inspired founder Nibhrant Shah, an investment banker, to create Isprava, which specializes in the construction, design and refurbishment of sophisticated luxury villas. Question him about how brand Isprava took shape, and he says, “It all started in 2013, when I was looking for a place where I would be free from the frenetic pace of city life, yet close enough to jump back in. A destination with connectivity, yet where I could easily disconnect. I was looking for the perfect home away from home. And it was a getaway to Goa that became the first chapter of this ever-evolving story.”

Nibhrant appreciated the juxtapositions that can be found in Goa — the 16th century history against vibrant neighbourhoods, the calm beaches against crowded shacks, the energetic parties against tranquil hideaways — and decided that this land of contrasts is where he would own a holiday home. “Goa, however, was marred by gated communities, complicated paperwork and lax regulations, making purchasing property an ordeal,” he explains. “The homes lacked a feeling of authenticity and exclusivity. Personal comfort was not a priority and attention to the environment and community was deeply deficient. It gradually dawned on me that what cannot be found, must be created. And thus, Isprava was born.”
