Architect Vistasp Bhagwagar creates a unique, vibrant and artistic office space for home decor brand InLiving that reflects its core values — environmental consciousness and creativity — through the innovative use of recycled waste material.

Noida-based furniture and home decor store InLiving has built a reputation for its environmentally conscious designs and eco-friendly products. So, when it came to conceptualizing the design of the brand’s head office, director Ashish Gupta believed that this mindful aesthetic needed to extend to this space as well. Thus emerged a plan for a 7,500 sq ft office in Noida, which maintained harmony with its surroundings through the use of environmentally responsible materials and minimal wastage.

Architect Vistasp Bhagwagar of Architect Vistasp & Associates, who is empanelled with the Indian green building council, was invited to design and execute the project. Expressing keen interest in keeping up with the changing times, Ashish shared a brief which was to create an office that spoke of a unique approach to design and sustainable interiors. He laid emphasis on the concept ‘reincarnation’, ie the adaptive reuse of discarded materials and products, to the largest extent possible. Spatially, he requested a friendly reception, an innovative conference room for designing and brainstorming, inspiring workstations, a workspace for accounts and the manager, cabins for Ashish and his wife Pallavi, and creative washrooms.
