Sculpted Light
Better Interiors
|May 2018
The humble light seems to be in the midst of a constant evolution — just what you witness at New Delhi’s Dbel Studio. Designed by architect Sanchit Arora of Renesa Architecture Design Interiors Studio, we see how a retail lighting showroom can be transformed into a light-art gallery.
When you are passionate about something, you want to see it done right — a fact any creative mind will attest to. It was just the case with Dilraj Bhatia who observed something amiss in the retail lighting sphere. “Being an architect and artist myself, I noticed a huge gap in the market for lighting. Not just in trading of products but also layouts and tasteful selection to maximize or enhance any space,” shares Dilraj who set out to make things right. And that’s how the New Delhibased Dbel Studio emerged to elevate the functional nature of light into art — and a masterpiece at that.
A mission like this needed expert minds who would not only be in sync with the initial vision but lead it to perfect fruition. For Dilraj, it was an obvious choice. “Aesthetics, performance and craftsmanship were the three key things I was looking for, and Renesa Architecture Design Interiors Studio (RADIS) perfectly fulfilled these requirements. Architect Sanchit Arora, who has a passion for all his projects, does go the extra mile to make sure that his client is satisfied with his work,” explains Dilraj.
