As Nature Intended
Condé Nast House & Garden
|May - June 2023
Designed with a focus on spacious, multifunctional living, this Hyde Park home is a testament to the simplicity of modern design and the beauty of nature
Embracing unobstructed views of nature through a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, architect and homeowner Luke Chandler set out to design a family home that's authentic, multifunctional and free-flowing. 'I was instantly captivated by the colossal oak tree on the site,' says Luke.

This inspired much of the home's integration into the natural environment, where other features, including a jacaranda and an avocado tree, were immovable objects that the house was designed around.'

Every room is planned out to overlook the sprawling, lush landscape - expressed through glass sliding doors that stack into cavity walls, blurring the line between the inside and out. These glass doors allow the space to be opened up in a matter of seconds, transitioning from an intimate and cosy setting to one that's essentially double in size and perfect for entertaining.
