World Record Hoard
Treasure Hunting magazine|June 2020
Since its discovery in May 2012, by two detectorists Reg Mead and Richard Miles, the island of Jersey’s now world-famous Celtic coin hoard has surprised archaeologists in terms of its content and historical importance.
World Record Hoard

The final number of coins found within the hoard has now been officially verified at an impressive 69,347. Notwithstanding the array of other objects contained within the hoard, this remarkable hoard of coins has now been accepted as a Guinness World Record in the category of the ‘Largest collection of Iron Age coins discovered’.
