The success of the High Line in New York has elevated elevation, reinvigorated the urban promenade and invented a new level for neighborhood regeneration. Developers and planners around the world are rushing to reinvent abandoned infrastructure as linear parks. Greenwich Peninsula – once a 150-acre patch of post-industrial neglect on the south side of the River Thames and now the site of a massive regeneration project by developer Knight Dragon – don’t have a handy stretch of rotting railway line, but it does have a 2.5km section of the Thames Path and river views.
