The revised Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller opens new frontiers for the brand and represents unique opportunities for collectors

In the final stretch of coverage for the 2023 novelties, the team almost missed out on the Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller. In fact, there was some talk internally about whether to skip this model entirely and go with the Rolex Oyster Perpetual with the Celebration Motif dial. The latter watch is the last one of Rolex’s massively popular novelties that this magazine has not yet addressed, but it is indeed so popular that tacking on a last-minute congratulatory note seems a little underwhelming. On the other hand, the revised 2023 Sky-Dweller has not received anywhere near the same attention and this seems unconscionable. One does not simply ignore an improved Sky-Dweller, but we could not bring ourselves to include the watch in our rundown of underpraised watches of 2023. It is still a Rolex after all.
