For many, patience is a virtue that is hard-earned and hard-learned. But at only 22 years old, the new sweetheart of showbiz Elisse Joson has fully embraced the lesson of the “waiting game,” trusting in the journey that has been laid out before her.

“With all that has been given to me—from the breaks to the other work opportunities—I’ve learned na it’s more fun to let life surprise you,” she mentions in a previous interview. “[Over the course of my career] I’ve learned to trust and believe in perfect timing.”

And this philosophy not only applies to her work, but to everything in every aspect of her life, she adds. “For example, when it comes to love, you can’t force something to happen. Hayaan mo na lang (sarili mo) to go through everything: The happy, the sad, the bumpy times. Kasi may perfect timing for it to work out. Ibig sabihin lang, meron kang dapat matutunan bago maging smooth ang lahat,” says the young beauty. 

Continuing, she shares, “’Yung timing, para sa akin, it’s really the key to everything. Kung meron ka man pinoproblema, ang solution is to just allow time to fix it and you to go through it. ’Wag mong masyadong isipin at damdamin, kasi darating din ’yung time na you’ll realize why you had to go through all that.”

And there, indeed, is no better person to share that wisdom than Elisse whose career and life has all been about waiting for the right moment.
