Going The Distance

Max Loong, a Fly Entertainment artiste, host, actor and co-owner of several establishments, including two production companies, the Singapore-based Media Dragon Pte Ltd and its sister company Mediafisch Gmbh in Zurich, Supper Club Los Angeles in California and Hidden Hills Villas in Bali, and Sepideh Haftgoli, a film producer, blogger and former Miss Iran, tied the knot in a beautiful Balinese cliffside ceremony in June. Here's their love story.

Congratulations! Tell us more about your relationship?

Max: We met at one of our favourite restaurants, Fig & Olive, in Los Angeles. We were both there with friends and waiting at the bar when we started chatting. The rest, they say, is history.

Was it love at first sight? 

Max: I definitely believe there was a special connection. Physical attraction, curiosity and excitement can be instant, but friendship and trust grow over time. With Sepideh, fireworks went off in my heart. I will never forget when I picked her up for our first date. I already knew she was going to be my wife. Sepideh: As soon as I saw Max, there was more than a spark. Not only was he handsome and dapper, but I loved his outgoing personality. Also, confidence is really important to me. It's such an attractive quality, and I could tell he was a man that was not only confident, but knew what he wanted and went after it. There was something special about him from the get go, and it turned out that I was right!

How long have you been together?

Sepideh: It’s been three wonderful years – and a lifetime still to go!

How did you know you'd met the one?

Sepideh: He laughs at my jokes, loves sushi and truffle as much as I do, goes out of his way to make me happy, and takes time to ensure our relationship is constantly exciting and fun.

There is never a dull moment. We travel so much together, and when we are back home in Los Angeles, we have weekend getaways and romantic nights all the time. Most importantly, he loves my family – and that confirmed I could spend the rest of my life with him.
