Courting Summer
Harper's Bazaar Bride
|June/July 2017
Social-media savvy and a spontaneous talker much to our delight, Jacqueline Fernandez unravels emotions as she talks about Sri Lanka, making it work in Bollywood, and her love for fitness.
For her third cover with BAZAAR BRIDE, and the most extravagant one yet, actor Jacqueline Fernandez reimagines life in the dreamy borroughs of London in the choicest of couture creations. All this, while she talks about living a life that is being constantly scrutinised over social media, her secret to maintaining a body that is the envy of and inspiration for many young women, finding the right guy, and something no one else has ever addressed before—achieving success on foreign shores.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR FITNESS REGIME. The major issue I always face is that I can never keep up with a routine, because I am never in one place for too long. Be it about working out in a gym, or a class of Pilates or yoga, I always try to keep my fitness routine very flexible, because I know I could be in any part of the world and I might not have access to something that I am used to.

HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU SPEND AT THE GYM?
It’s very simple, I workout for an hour a day. And I don’t even consider Sundays as off days.
WHAT SORT OF A DIETARY REGIME DO YOU FOLLOW?
We are in such a body-intensive industry that our requirements are different for different characters, for different movies, which also means that if I am prepping for a particular song, my entire dietary and fitness regime changes. For me, it’s 80 percent about being healthy and 20 percent about the free space wherein you can cheat a little bit, basically where you can just be normal.
