The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) has always been at the forefront of representing the interests of the Domestic Garment Industry to the various Government Authorities, Media, and other Agencies. It has also played a leading role in providing the best possible service to its members through its National Garment Fairs, Conciliation Cell, Skill Development Programs, Ivy League, etc.

A Report on Meeting with Industry Associations, held on November 23, 2021

It is with this background that CMAI felt the need for closer co-ordination between the leading Associations in the Industry. Accordingly, CMAI Organised an interactive session in Mumbai on November 23, 2021 in which it invited PAN India Regional Associations. A total of 14 Industry Associations participated in the session.

Before the interactive meeting, CMAI organised a seminar on the same day at Yogi Sabhagruh to launch its Arbitration Cell, which is an urgent need of the industry. CMAI believes that industry today needs a strong Arbitration Mechanism, and this cell will benefit the CMAI Members. However, CMAI also believes that for such an effort to succeed, we need to have a consolidated and joint effort from Associations across the country — for the disputes to be resolved among members irrespective of the geographical location of the defaulting party.
