The New Destination Is To Start Welcoming Residents And Guests Soon. But Just What Will You Find There?

With new projects announced seemingly every month in Dubai, you’d be forgiven for forgetting back in 2013 when Meraas, the creators of destinations including La Mer and Al Seef, announced Bluewaters. Located 300 metres off the Jumeirah Beach Residences coastline, the island promised family living, huge new attractions, hotels and a host of restaurants and shops.

Fast forward to 2018, and the island is almost ready to start welcoming guests. So just what will they find when they reach the Dhs8 billion destination?

Bluewaters Island is split into three key areas key areas: residential, retail and entertainment, and hotels and a beach club. The world’s largest observation wheel, Ain Dubai, stands proudly at 210 metres tall, and is at the heart of the leisure and entertainment destination on the island. The wheel will be fitted with 48 spacious glass capsules, which will offer panoramic views across Dubai to some 1400 passengers at a time. A number of the capsules will also be private ‘fine dining’ rooms that seat up to 12 guests, while six of the capsules will have a licensed bar so that you can have a tipple with your 360 degree views.

Some 150 restaurants, bars, shops and cafes will make up the rest of the leisure area, and although a full list of all the venues to expect has not been revealed, a number of restaurants and bars are now advertising that they’re set to make their Bluewaters debut soon.
