Winter Is Here! Time To Dust Off Your Swimsuits, And Head To The Best Beaches Dubai Has To Offer.
KITE BEACH
Arguably Dubai’s most popular beach, it’s hard to ignore the allure of Kite Beach. Once a relatively wild stretch of coastline, it was given a makeover a few years back and now has everything you could ask for in a seaside location.
There are the miles of pristine golden sand, of course, and the beachside cafés and funky food trucks, but it’s the wealth of activity-inducing paraphernalia that’s truly impressive. You can kite surf, surf ski and paddleboard, or simply fly a kite as the name suggests. Or how about windsurfing or a game of volleyball?
Depending on your energy levels, there’s even free gym equipment and regular boot camps, plus a jogging track that stretches all the way from Dubai Marine Beach Resort & Spa to the foot of the Burj Al Arab.
If that’s not enough, adjacent to Kite Beach is X Dubai Skatepark, with its 11 bowled corners, three flat banks, two bowls and a whole load of street elements. Covering 3,100 square metres, the pro bowl – which is 3.2-metre deep with a 2.1-metre shallow end – is the undoubted highlight.
For those who prefer to take it easy, however, fear not. Loungers are available for the comfort conscious and it’s relatively easy to find quieter spots on the open stretches of soft white sand. Umbrellas and towels can also be rented, while there are showers and restrooms sprinkled here and there.
And then there’s the food. Kite Beach is awash with fabulous dining options, not least its burger offering, which includes the much-lauded Salt, which serves some of the best sliders in town, and 25 55, with its flame cheese fries and volcano sliders. There’s also La Vedette Café, a French street-style bistro, the Indian delights of Vicki da Dhaba, and Taste of Brazil, with its Rio de Janeiro vibe and churrasquinho sandwiches.
