It’s an unsolved murder-mystery that has gripped the world for 130 years and resulted in numerous TV dramas, films and books.

But who was the notorious Jack the Ripper, the serial killer who brutally murdered at least five prostitutes in East London’s Whitechapel back in 1888?

A new eight-part documentary series aims to prove that the Ripper was actually American serial killer HH Holmes, who is believed to have killed at least 200 people in Chicago in the late 19th Century.
