For 10 years, Patrick Dempsey played heartthrob surgeon Derek ‘McDreamy’ Shepherd on Grey’s Anatomy and fans were left heartbroken when he was killed off in 2015. But, for the actor, leaving the show has opened the door to other opportunities, including starring in the new murder mystery The Truth about the Harry Quebert Affair on Sky Witness this week.

In the 10-part psychological thriller, which is based on Joël Dicker’s 2012 novel, Dempsey takes the title role of esteemed author Harry Quebert, who lives a quiet life in his isolated beachfront house in the small town of Sommerdale, Maine, and spends his days teaching.

That’s until the day the remains of a teenage girl, Nola Kellergan, who disappeared more than 30 years ago, are found on his property.
