Moore Magic
Kent Life
|January 2018
Scotney Castle is enabling local artists to have their sculptures shown on the same plinth where a Henry Moore bronze once sat.
SCOTNEY Castle in Lamberhurst is teaming up with local artists to launch a new rolling art programme. Over the coming months the National Trust property will showcase modern sculptures on a plinth that once displayed a piece by renowned sculptor Henry Moore.
London-based artist Katerina Porter kicks off the programme this month with her sculpture Hungarian Ballet Dancer, specially chosen for its beautiful, flowing lines. Her creation has previously been on display in the Sculpt at Kew exhibition at Kew Gardens and will now take pride of place on the plinth in Scotney Castle’s historic Old Castle garden.
