Legendary Watchmen artist Dave Gibbons has been here before. Back in the 1990s, he was offered “an obscene amount of money” to help develop the adventure game Beneath a Steel Sky with point-and-click auteur Charles Cecil. Dave would fax art to the developer, but now it’s at the press of a button from his Wacom Cintiq.

The process has changed, but just as Dave found the constraints of the 16-bit era – limited colors, data sizes, and fax machines – a creative challenge, even now on PlayStation 5, he loves the trials technology offers.
