An unfortunate incident with a swindling jeweller in Hong Kong more than 20 years ago led a pair of sisters-in-law to create their own jewellery line.

Today, Temptations Jewellery co-founders Reema Buxani and Naina Buxani can look back on that unlucky episode with relief—and pride.

Vowing to educate others about devious gem-makers, the hardworking Buxanis went back to school, earning diplomas in gem work, jewellery design, pearl and diamond grading, and jewellery appraising from well-regarded institutes such as the Gemological Institute of America.
