Q. What are the skills required to succeed in the development sector?
A. The development sector in the country is changing but the basic skills required to be successful remain constant. These core skills include problem solving in difficult environments, ability to operate with minimal resources, flexibility, networking, and building relationships and management. However, most importantly, having empathy and passion for the people towards whose betterment you are working is critical. Also, work on acquiring a technical skill. It can be anything from engineering to health depending upon the issue that interests you. Personally, I have always felt that knowing different languages takes you a long way.
Q. How can students optimally prepare for this field while pursuing their degree?
