Staying on track

Did a mixture of post-Christmas guilt and a few too many Proseccos on New Year’s Eve lead you to one of the most popular resolutions of all time - exercising more?

Let’s be honest, keeping your fitness resolution is far easier said than done, something former GB athlete, Gemma Weetman, knows only too well. Gemma’s venture into sports began at age nine after she excelled at her school’s cross country running and decided to join her local athletics club.

“I definitely didn’t start at my best, no-one does,” Gemma laughs, ‘but with training and dedication I received my first international representation for Great Britain in 2006 whilst competing in France and Switzerland. After I medalled in both, my life as an international athlete began.’ Gemma’s devotion to athletics has taken her on quite the journey, from the tracks to academia as a sports lecturer, and now into her current role as a personal trainer and sports massage therapist.
