The Selah Garden Hotel: Urban Oasis
COOK MAGAZINE
|April 2018
Dab smack in the middle of Manila’s urban jungle, Selah, a garden themed boutique hotel, is an unexpected oasis.
A giant swing made of bamboo swings forth from a giant tree where a multilevel tree house stands. On one side of this tree house is a climbing wall. When you look up you will see all the accoutrements of an obstacle course so cleverly constructed, it’s not immediately apparent. It’s a testament to how possible it is to design something that blends seamlessly with the environment. Selah is a popular place for serious team building: (High Ropes) Zip Line, Control Descent, Burma Bridge, Multi-vines, Jacob’s Ladder, Broken Bridge, (Low Ropes) Whale Watch Balance, Swing Aboard, Team Wall, and Trust Fall. Some of their clients include even the army, their convenient location preventing the need to foray out of town. Even the square pool is more than just for swimming. The pool varies in depth, the deepest of which is 10-ft, because it is also serves as a practice pool for diving school.

Salt And Smoke
I don’t think I am alone in thinking that barbecued meat is probably one of, if not the most appetizing thing you can watch on TV. Of all the cuisines that play on the food channels, only barbecue has multiple shows on its specific cuisine. It even beats shows on burgers or pizza or TexMex on the amount of coverage it gets.
