ON THE BRINK OF A COMEBACK, THE STAR ANNOUNCES SHE’S GETTING HITCHED

Having shied away from the spotlight for the past several years, Lindsay Lohan is hitting a personal and professional hot streak. A week after sharing a snap from the set of her upcoming Netflix movie, the star surprised fans by announcing that her boyfriend of two years, Bader Shammas, had popped the question. “My love. My life. My family. My future,” Lohan, 35, captioned a carousel of loved-up photos showing off her brand new Harry Winston sparkler.

The couple were first spotted together two years ago at a music festival in Dubai, where Lohan has lived for the past seven years. “There’s a certain calmness that I find there,” Lohan told W magazine in 2018 of her home in the United Arab Emirates. “There’s no paparazzi, no cameras; that’s a big deal for me … I do really appreciate having a life where I can just go outside and not have to worry.”

Five years ago, Lohan called off her engagement with Egor Tarabasov following allegations of abuse, which the Russian businessman has vehemently denied. In July 2016, police were called to Lohan’s London apartment after a video surfaced of her screaming at Tarabasov, then 23, from her balcony. “He just strangled me. He almost killed me,” she claimed at the time, before calling her fiancé a “f--king psycho”. Before calling it quits, the couple were also photographed in a physical altercation on a beach in Mykonos.
