If you haven’t tuned into action series Hawaii Five-0 (2010-2020) season 3 on Thursdays evening on free-to-air channel e.tv, you’ve been missing out on fun in the tropical island paradise sun. International baddies, car chases, car-arguments (see the red box to the right), explosions, fight scenes and buddy-cop humour fill every episode. It not only follows the specialised HDPS (Hawaii Department Of Public Safety) task force or the “Five-0” team as they investigate crime in Hawaii, but also their personal lives. And that human aspect makes it a must-see series.

Former Navy SEAL Commander Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin, Dr Andy Yablonski in Three Rivers, 2009-2010) heads up the task force, supported by ex-NYC Detective Sergeant Danny Williams (Scott Caan, Scott Lavin from 2009 to 2011 in Entourage, 2004-2011); Detective Lieutenant Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Day Kim, Dr Han in 2019 in The Good Doctor, 2017-now) and Officer Kono Kalakaua (Grace Park, Katherine Saville in A Million Little Things, 2018- now, see p47).
