Youngest royal wife Mpho (Azwi Rambuda) has had a heavy last few months. Her ex-chief husband Azwindini (Gabriel Temudzani) forced her to work for his enemy Tenda (Nat Ramabulana) as a corporate spy. Mpho inadvertently started an affair with Tenda that has stressed her to no end. And now she’s pregnant. “Mpho is completely shocked and floored by the news. She took all the precautions not to fall pregnant, but now life has thrown her this curveball,” says Azwi.

Being pregnant is a blessing normally, says Azwi. But her character has been intimate with Tenda and Azwindini, so Mpho is worried about the paternity. “She hopes, for her sake, that it’s her husband’s child. The ancestors told Azwindini that he wouldn’t have any more children. If it’s his child, it would prove to the ancestors that Azwindini is the rightful chief and that his bloodline must continue. That is important to Azwindini, who was dethroned early this year after it was claimed that he’s not of royal blood,” adds the actress.
