"Kate has recently realized she can do without her bossy mother trying to take over," says a source.

KATE MIDDLETON'S mother, Carole Middleton, prides herself on being a hands-on grandmother. "I want to run down the hills, climb the trees and go through the tunnel at the playground,” the 67-year-old has said of keeping up with Kate's three small children with husband Prince William, Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and 4-year-old Prince Louis. “As long as I am able to, that's what I'll be doing. I cook with them, I muck around dancing, we go on bike rides.”

It all got a bit too hands-on for Kate. After happily relying on her mom to help out with child-rearing, a source tells Star the future Queen has grown tired of her mother's input. Now, says a source, a fed-up Kate has ordered Carole to butt out of her family's day-to-day business! Carole’s meddling ways became so irksome, the source tells Star, that Kate cut off all contact, and the formerly close mother-daughter duo haven't spoken in three months. “Carole is a very pushy mother," says the source, adding that Kate's friends have dubbed her “Controlling Carole" because she's constantly interfering in her daughter's affairs —and telling her how to raise her kids. “Kate finally had to tell her to just back off.”
