Sunny Leone "Yelling Won't Get You Anywhere"

Bollywood always accepts talent with arms wide open and it did the same when Sunny Leone knocked on its door. But soon enough, the actress realised that her journey was not going to be a cakewalk. There were roadblocks, detractors and a lot of hurdles, but she walked her way through the lanes of Bollywood, happily garnering fans and fame. Speak to her today, and you sense an accomplished actress speaking her mind without any prejudices.

As I sit to pen my thoughts down, I look back at the happenings of the day that went by. It was sheer chaos. Amidst the cacophony of the festivities around, pouring rain and never-ending traffic, I somehow reached my destination. Was the universe against this meeting?

Well, after diligently pursuing the gorgeous lady for two months (thanks to my subject’s busy schedule), I landed up with this interview, which happened post a song launch of a film in a suburban fivestar.

Dodging a group of journalists, we finally sat down for a tête-à-tête. And I realised that I hit gold and managed to tap the side of Sunny Leone many weren’t aware of. From telling me that she was somebody who would rather watch a movie than read a book or take a walk on the beach over a dinner by the pool, to rejoicing that she had finally found a cook, Sunny was a joy to talk to. Being a food lover, I revelled in the fact that the sexy lady had a craving for dal makhani as she blurted out that she would gobble some down where the media was served dinner (laughs). Ask her about the Mumbai rains and she says she loves them, saying “You know what, I live in a bubble, so I go from one bubble to another. And if I am at home, I actually get to watch the rains. So I like the rains a lot.”

Kick-starting the conversation about movies, aspirations, connections and a lot more…

What was your first impression as you stepped into Mumbai?
