When Jude Law signed on to reprise his role as Pope Pius XIII in HBO’s The New Pope — a follow-up to 2016’s The Young Pope — he had no idea he’d be expected to disrobe on camera once again. “I immediately felt embarrassed for my kids,” says the father of five, referring to a scene in the series’ trailer, in which his character emerges from the ocean wearing nothing but a white Speedo. “I thought they’d all be like, ‘What were you doing?’ But they didn’t, they all laughed.
