When it comes to strength, agility and grace, it’s pretty hard to go past the world of ballet for fitspiration goals. And if you never gave it a go as a kid, that doesn’t mean you have to miss out.

No longer reserved for cute kids in tutus, beginner ballet classes are popping up in dance studios around Australia. You can start at any age, and there’s no need to feel self-conscious. Kelii Grauer, dancer and founder of KBOD Fitness, gives us the lowdown…

Is adult ballet something that’s growing in popularity?

Absolutely! I would actually say there has been a rise of interest in all genres of dance in the adult population. There is more awareness of the physical and health benefits associated with ballet and dance-related classes, and a yearning to also enjoy exercise.

Has the rise of barre classes fuelled an interest in ballet?
