So much of the way we live revolves around habits we barely even think about, which is why there is often a chasm between hearing that our planet is in serious trouble and changing our behaviour. Take your toothbrush for example. Think about the next time you’re buying one from the supermarket – that toothbrush will outlive you (and your teeth) by 400 years!

We know small things like this don’t automatically make us the new Greta Thunberg, but it’s exactly the kind of change London-based wellness expert and sustainability advocate Jasmine Hemsley believes we need to embrace.

‘It might just start with what seems like the most minor thing [like a bamboo toothbrush alternative!], but each switch you make is worthwhile,’ says Jasmine. ‘And more often than not, if it’s better for the planet it has health and wellness benefits, too.’
