In 2020, electric vehicles (EV) sales reg-istered a record three million new cars, reporting a growth of 41 per cent over the previous year. This phenomenal growth took place at a time when the global automotive industry reported a reduction of 16 per cent during the same period due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
