Technology to contain non communicable diseases

The right use of technology will enable physicians to do real time monitoring of the health data to accelerate the treatment in time with proved effectiveness

In the era of increasing prevalence of diseases, restructuring of the healthcare system and growing consumer demand, delivery of efficient care is by no doubt very crucial. From treating illness to sustaining wellness, the entire healthcare universe needs to collaborate to make a transformational shift for making healthcare not only affordable and accessible but also value-based.

With the increasing encumbrance of communicable and non communicable diseases, the industry has to focus on preventive screenings and early identification of diseases to ensure effective treatments are given to the patients at the early stage. The non-communicable diseases like cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, chronic respiratory diseases and cancer accounts for over 60% of all mortality in India. According to the World Economic Forum, India expenses will be over $ 4.58 trillion between 2012 and 2030 due to non-communicable diseases.

This is precisely where technology plays a pivotal role and shows us a ray of hope. Robust technologies and growing consumerism, along with demographic and economic changes, are expected to restructure the existing healthcare delivery model leading to ‘digitisation of health’.

With a simple plugin of technology we can fix the puzzle of efficient care delivery for remote care, chronic care and critical care.
