We, as humans, come a long way from being animals ourselves to abusing other animals by priding ourselves as the most intelligent race, on the face of this Earth. We believe that we are superior to all other animals on this planet and we intend to control them by hook or by crook. We adopt pets, click selfies, post videos of them all over the internet with hashtags like petlovers, petportrait etc. But, on the darker side of this coin, animals are being exploited and killed for various benefits of us. Worse, they are being treated and abused in such a way that a normal human couldn’t even think of.

There are numerous laws in which violence against humans in different forms is addressed. These are effective to an extent and are almost successful in instilling some fear amongst the people against inflicting violence upon people. Similarly, there are laws for addressing violence or abuse against animals. But, they don’t seem to be effective to execute their intended purpose. Despite these laws, thousands of cases regarding animal abuse are still being recorded. Unlike us, animals cannot go to a person or a place to ask for help from their abuser. But, most of the cases related to animal cruelty are pending in courts. Despite the legislation and rules against animal abuse, India is constantly witnessing thousands of unnatural deaths of animals, across the country.
