One of India’s largest retail and entertainment complexes, Virtuous Retail (VR) Mall in Chennai houses a mall, multiplex and a 20-room hotel in a massive 2 million sqft of area. Blue Star feels privileged to have executed Integrated MEP services for this LEED certified Green Building.
BLUE STAR AND VR MALL
Blue Star has been VR Mall’s chosen partner at all their projects so far. Chosen for electrical works at Surat and then the electrical, plumbing & firefighting works at Bengaluru, Blue Star’s scope for Chennai Mall was of an integrated MEP service provider.
The scope of the project included engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of MEP works for the mall, multiplex and hotel of the VR Mall project. Air conditioning scope of the project comprised three 1000 TR and one 500 TR chiller, 19 pump sets, 22 AHUs, 315 CSUs, eight HRWs, along with pipes, insulation, valves, ducts, grills and diffusers.
Electrical scope included four 2 MVA transformers, four 1010 kVA DGs, two 33kV HT panels, 281 LT panels, 340m bus ducts, distribution system, cable trays, cables, UPS, fire detection system, and lighting fixtures.
Plumbing scope consisted of two sets of WTP systems, four hydropneumatic systems, pipes, coupling and fittings.
Fire-fighting scope comprised active system, fire pumps, external hydrant and piping.
