Manoj Agarwal: As a CISO, what do you think are the most dramatic security issues the banking sector has faced in 2016?
Ashutosh Jain: Quite a few innovations are happening on the threat side of the ecosystem. There are unprecedented D-DOS attacks that global organization are witnessing for the first time. The IoT based D-DOS is an innovation in 2016 and we could see some shades in 2017 too. Ransomware is getting powerful. From strategy perspective, hackers instead of directly attacking institutions are coming through vendors. This is classically known as water-holing technique. Instead of attacking the victim directly, you go through a trusted institution to start attacking trusted side and hit them hard.
Manoj: What was the highlight for 2016 from Cisco’s perspective?
