1 PICK THE RIGHT JEWELLERY

You can help contribute to a more sustainable world even before the big day. When it comes to the engagement ring, or your wedding day jewellery, turn to brands with ethically sourced diamonds and jewellery, such as Artisan & Fox, Covenant Jewellery and Tiffany & Co.

2 HAVE A DIFFERENT KIND OF BRIDAL PARTY

Gather the girls for a day of volunteering! Some ideas to consider: Prepare and distribute food at Willing Hearts’ soup kitchen, act as a guardian on outings for the elderly, or walk strays from dog shelters. You can also help whip up baked goods for a non-profit organisation, or organise an overseas volunteer trip with your besties. That wild hen’s night can always come after.

3 SKIP THE FAVOURS

Instead, do someone else a favour and make a donation on behalf of your guests. In place of favours at each place seating, you can leave a “Thank You” note for your guests. Or, choose favours that are eco-friendly or encourage guests to go green – think reusable stainless steel straws, or baked goods/crafts made by social enterprises, such as Minds (Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore) Social Enterprise, or The Art Faculty by Pathlight.
