It was a solemn day for fashion as Chanel presented their Fall/Winter ’19-20 show on the 5th of March, 2019. Ivory, onyx, charcoal, pearls, tweed, and snow, it was all there… It was like he knew but, then again, hasn’t he always? The icon, legend, visionary and more, Karl Lagerfeld has been a gift to fashion ever since he started working with Pierre Balmain in the ’50s. His wit and extreme love for impeccable style made him the man we loved, admired, and emulated. Always spotted in a shield of black sunglasses, pristine white collars, finger-less leather gloves, and layers of baroque jewellery, he embodied fashion and exuded brilliance. In 1983, soon after his appointment by the Wertheimer family, his first collection for the house of Chanel evoked the era of Coco Chanel herself.
