In reality, 50-year-old leaf springs are a bigger issue than you might realize. Even if the car sat for 10 years, those leaf springs are what have held the body off the ground for the entire life of the vehicle. Over time, the steel leaves weaken and fatigue, leaving you with an uneven stance and, more importantly, uneven handling.
