ION Energy Inc (ION) is on a mission! A mission to improve the life and performance of lithiumion batteries. Be it battery packs powering EV powertrains or Energy Storage Systems (ESS) that are in vogue with economies the world overcommitting to going fully electric by the turn of the decade. Co-founded by Akhil Aryan in 2016, Mumbai headquartered ION has conducted extensive research to conclude, by 2022 itself, global battery manufacturing capacity could hit 400 GWh. The company is betting big on the demand of Battery Management System (BMS) compatible with Lithium Cobalt Oxide (LiCoO2), Lithium Manganese Oxide (LiMn2O4), Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide (LiNiMnCoO2), Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4), Lithium Nickel Cobalt Aluminum Oxide (LiNiCoAlO2) and Lithium Titanate (Li2TiO3) spanning low voltage to high voltage applications. Lead-acid or NiMH battery packs, however, are the exceptions in terms of compatibility.
