At eighteen I wanted to become a sculptor, but I didn’t feel ‘artsy’ enough and turned to a career in the office. Ten years later I studied as a make-up artist on the side and tried my first bodypainting. It would take six more years to get to my first contest, but that seeded the spark of the bodypaint virus. Your model is like a three-dimensional canvas (no disrespect!) and that’s how my brain likes to perceive art, I guess. Like a sculptor.

I first got into airbrushing in 2004. I just wanted to try something new, in addition to my face painting. Well that changed everything! It immediately became my favourite technique. Airbrushing gives me the feeling of sculpting with light and shadows. It might sound strange, but I still feel more like a sculptor than a painter.
